San Francisco’s Iconic Mattress Maker Plans to Open Pop Up Retail in San Rafael

San Rafael, CA: Storied San Francisco mattress maker, McRoskey San Francisco, is opening a pop up showroom in San Rafael this November. “An increasing number of McRoskey’s Marin and North Bay customers are now choosing to shop online. As both a maker and seller of luxury mattresses, what differentiates McRoskey is our sales and service experience. A retail presence in San Rafael will allow North Bay customers to enjoy this service in person, and to try mattresses before buying,” said Robin McRoskey Azevedo, 3rd generation owner and CEO.
Pop up retail is a recent concept pioneered by premium fashion houses; however it is unusual in the mattress industry, and unlikely for a company as iconic as McRoskey. Founded in San Francisco in 1899, the company has recently revamped its online store, ensuring a seamless online-brick & mortar experience. “For generations McRoskey has built intimate relationships with its customers,” said Marketing Manager Kaytea Petro, “It is at the heart of what we do, so it’s important we foster those relationships through both modern and traditional means. Opening a pop up store in San Rafael is the perfect way to complement our online presence and reach our customers where they are.”
The store will open on 4th Street in San Rafael Saturday, November 4th, and will operate through February. Opening weekend will feature a Breakfast in Bed celebration where customers can enjoy local pastries and beverages while trying the beds, all in the heart of San Rafael’s vibrant Fourth Street business district.
