Judy Schwartz, a Bay Area reverse mortgage specialist, ordered her McRoskey mattress this October. Today Judy visited the factory to see her mattress, The Gentle Platform Tufted, under construction.
Amazed by the assembly of the coil construction and the fiber filling materials, we watched Judy’s enjoyment as she kept touching all the layers as the product was being built. Paul Deming, McRoskey’s Plant Manager, explained how the two sided mattress would be tufted to keep filling materials in place and create a buoyant sleep surface.
On her way out the door, Judy circled back to give her mattress one final pat, and bid it “Adieu” until its delivery date later this month.
If you talk to Judy, ask her about the giant skirt pins used to keep the assembled mattress together before it was sewn shut and tufted.
Later in the day, after the tour, we talked to Judy and she had told her pooches about the new mattress. She said they are thrilled and threaten to hog the entire bed.
