In April 2012, a family on spring break toured our mattress factory in the Central Waterfront District of San Francisco. The parents were visiting the area with their two children and two nieces all between the ages of 8 and 12.
While in Northern California, the family group also toured the Jelly Belly candy factory in Fairfield, California and the California campus of the Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael. A delightful family indeed! The parents said there is great value in learning how things are made, and that factory touring is a better activity than theme parks. I wholeheartedly agree.
We’ve been handcrafting mattresses in San Francisco since 1899 and we still follow many of the same mattress-making techniques. This tour is a wonderful opportunity to see a McRoskey mattress made firsthand and learn a bit of San Francisco history as well.
The factory is located at 1400 Minnesota Street in San Francisco. To request a tour, send an email to sales@McRoskey.com or call 877-499-9600. All participants must wear safety glasses and only closed-toe shoes are permitted during the tour. We welcome small groups of five or less. Also, all tours are by advance reservation only.
The tour is free and open to the public. You can visit this page on our website to learn more: https://shop.https://live-mcroskey-san-francisco.pantheonsite.io/factory
