For those of us — performers and audience members alike — whose musical upbringing included these Preludes and Fugues, this event is a reunion. It’s a chance to visit with Bach again, even if our daily musical lives have taken us in very different directions. The assembled group of pianists have indeed taken many different paths: they are performers with national and international reputations, community and collegiate educators, conductors, composers, arts administrators, new music specialists, vocal coaches, and even fine musicians whose primary instruments don’t have keyboards. We all share a love for this music.
